The Romriell's have "The Bug!"

We finally caught the 24 hour stomach bug that everyone has been talking about. The momma got it first last tuesday! Darren was nice enough to miss a class and help out with the momma and Kaiden. Once he put Kaiden down for bed he went to work on his homeowrk until 11 30 at night. And just when he was getting ready to go to bed, Kaiden gets sick at midnight, and for a whole hour we washed and changed him and his sheets and scrubbed the carpets too. Darren did most of the work since I was still sickly and the poor guy even got barfed on. Around 1 am Kaiden finally fell back asleep and was out the rest of the night. By wednesday morning I was feeling better but still really tired. Kaiden was still sick although it was mostly in his diapers. Darren probably thought he was getting the short end of the stick by cleaning up Kaidens barfing mess the night before, but the momma had to clean up the poopy mess the next day. Did I mention when I laid Kaiden down for his afternoon nap he tore off his diaper and played Poop Fingerpaint!? Ya fun! Oh I was gagging the whole time I had to clean that up. Justice is always being served in the parenting world! Haha. Well later that same night, Darren came home with the bug. I cant believe it didnt get to him sooner, but he was up all night sicker than a dog. He even attempted to go to a 7 30 am class the next day! Well he attempted to go to all of his classes but only made it through that one before he came home to sleep ALL day. lol. Im thinking his age has something to do with how bad it hit him! Bahaha! The poor guy still plans on going booting tonight! What a man! And now that Im feeling loads better, I guess I better tackle all the housework that Ive put off. Blah! =D
On a sweet, cute, adorable, lovely note: Kaiden came right up to me today and gave me a BIG hug AND a kiss! I usually have to tackle him to give me one, but he did this all on his own. Daddy was watching and can verify the events! lol Oh I love our boy soooo much! <3

Kaiden's One Year Check-Up!

Okay so we're a few weeks late but they were booked weeks out so thustoday we had them scheduled. And of course its at a time where Darren has a class so I have to go by myself. I prefer Darren being there since I cover my eyes while Darren holds down Kaidens arms so he doesnt try to grab the needles or something crazy. There is something completley unnatural about a mother holding down her child while he feels pain. So sad, and yes I cried. When they were done he rolled over and jumped into my arms. Aww! It didnt take long to calm him down and I gave him a lollipop and I knew he was feeling better cause he started offering me licks! lol. He's such a good sharer. He got 5 band-aids from the whole ordeal and as soon as we got home he started running around and being his crazy self. First by peeling off all 5 band aids then by rolling is lollipop in the carpet. Haha. ide Note: Kaiden is 21% for weight (21 lbs) and 74% for height (30 inches)! Still our tall and skinny boy! =)
Later tonight Im going to have a girls night with my friends from Rexburg. Im excited since I havent seen them since I left for Utah. I have the BEST recipe for pumpkin cookies so I think Ill we'll be baking up some goodness! Cant wait! I crave these cookies year round but only make them in the fall! =)

Stitches!?

Haha yup! I was cleaning the glass fish bowl and I when I attempted to pick it up out of the sink, (I made it about 3 inches) it slipped down and bit me! Hard! Its a good thing I can keep myself cool in situations like this. haha. Well as soon as I saw it I knew I would need stitches! I sent Darren a text (he was in a class) but he didnt even contact me until I was at the DR's office in the middle of the lil operation. I guess the picture text I sent him gave it away that I wasn't joking. haha. I havent had stitches since I was 9 and it was a painful experience so I was kinda scared to go in. The office where Dr Watson works at also has an emergency care and good thing cause its just next door! =) Well it took 5 whole stitches but it was only a small cut. And amazingly I didnt feel a thing! Thank you anesthetic! And I even got a hot pink bandage out of the whole ordeal! All in all I think Im quite lucky it wasnt my right hand or any worse. =) Now that Kaidens down for a nap I think Ill watch me some Channing Tatum and eat the dipped strawberries that I made for Darren last night. lol.

Play Days

Today after daddy got home from school, we played outside on the play area we have at our apartment complex. We even took Jozlyn to play too! Kaiden likes to hold her leash and walk her. While he was holding the leash, she took off. I started yelling "Jozlyn! Jozyln!" and I hear "Ra-Raaa! Ra-Raaa!" haha. I looked up at Darren and he said what I was thinking! That he was trying to say her name! Haha soo cute. He does love his puppy. Sometimes when she stands by the door whining to go potty Kaiden will look for her leash and chase her around the apartment trying to get the leash on her. Haha he's such a big helper! We just love this boy!

So here are some pics from today and I finally uploaded the video and pics from his birthday so you can look back through the posts to watch and see them. =) After we got home and took off his jacket and shoes, he came running out of his room with his jacket and tried to wrap it around himself and stood by the door. Haha.

Finally a NEW Post!

Well not alot has been going on here in Rexburg. Kaiden has a cold so we're taking him to his amazing pediatrician, Dr. Watson! He was also my baby Dr. when I was pregnant with Kaiden. He is definetley one of the pros for moving back to Rexburg. Lol. Poor lil Kaiden has been having the sniffles and this morning got a cough. I was lucky to get him in today.
Darren has been working hard at school and enjoying it more than he did his internship! haha. Last night he went to his first meeting of the Pre-Law BYU-I Academic Society. Which gets him really "excited about law since (he's) around construction majors all day." He will be meeting every wednesday night for their meetings and on saturday mornings they practice LSAT tests.
Tonight Darren starts back with the booting business. Meaning that he and I will be going to bed late on Thursdays and Fridays since I've kinda gotten into the habit of falling asleep with him! lol.
Well there ya have it, our lil family update. Since there hasnt been too much going lately, our posts wont be as frequent, but I'll make sure to update all the BIG events!

Well, I guess we have a toddler now!

Alrighty so time for some much needed updating! Kaiden and I moved to Rexburg last wednesday and got all moved in thanks to Kell, Skyler and Brooke. Now I've just been trying to get the motivation to unpack! Well, I've done the necessary boxes like for the bath towels and the kitchen silverware, but there are stil ALOT of boxes! Its hard to get work done when you're by yourself with a toddler! Haha its gonna be weird getting used to saying that!
Yesterday was Kaiden's very first, First Birthday! Kinda crazy since Darren is still in SLC finishing up cousin Hannah's bathroom. I can't believe our baby is already 1! This year has gone by sooo fast. Our lil man has made his parents so happy! He is so well behaved. Well, Kaiden and I played all day! We went to the lil playground they have here, played chase around the house, played with his toys and he got 2 baths today, lol, and we went out to run errands and even picked him up a cupcake from the Cupcake Cafe. Well, he loved the cupcake! lol. Here's a video, but be warned, he does make the cupcake sound really really good! lol. Also I apologize for all the boxes. Kaiden and I had just moved in the day before! =)

And here are some extra pictures. Kaiden likes to lick all the frosting off and then dive into the cake! He liked using his "1" candle as the utensil to lick off all the frosting. haha.

Tomorrow I get to meet cousin Tenielle's baby Tailyn at her baby blessing! Im excited to hold her and see all of our family. =)
