I've been feeling what I thought, but wasnt sure, was the baby moving the past few days! But the big ol kick "he" gave me today verified what I had been thinking. This is when the pregnancy starts to get really fun! And although we wont find out the sex for about 5-6 more weeks, I thought it would be fun to list some old wives tales to see if any of them turn out to be true!
Here goes:
1. Our baby's heartbeat is closer to 150 meaning- BOY
2.I'm craving Sweet food- GIRL
3.My face hasn't gotten any "rounder"- BOY
4.Mayan Tale (add the mother's age and year of conception)- Even, meaning GIRL
5.More break outs (most likely due to all the sweets)- GIRL
6.Kaiden's first word was "momma"- GIRL
7.I don't eat the heel of the bread- GIRL
8.Chinese Gender Chart says: BOY
9. If the mother feels less attractive- GIRL (this didnt happen with Kaiden though)
10. I had a dream we were having a boy- GIRL
11. I'm more clumsy than graceful, but that hasnt changed!- BOY
12.I prefer to sleep on my right side- GIRL
13. Darren is gaining "sympathy weight"- GIRL haha.
14.mother's intuition which is about 71% accurate- BOY
15. I had no morning sickness, just nausea for 2 weeks- BOY
16.I've been craving oranges or orange juice- GIRL
17. my feet (and body, really) are colder- BOY
18. my hands are less dry than normal- GIRL
19. I've been craving fruit- GIRL
20. my hair is growing at the same rate , if not slower- GIRL
21.when I asked the "Magic 8 Ball" if we were having a girl it said "Outlook Not So Good"- BOY
Okay now to tally, BOY- 8 GIRL- 13
That being said, I'm still 90% sure it's a boy! And since Old Wives tales have only been proven 50% of the time and a mother's intuition has been proven 71% of the time, I win again!
My mom, my friends Laura and Nicole, my aunt and Darren all claim it's a girl. But me and one of Darren's aunts agree it's a boy! I guess we'll find out sooner or later. I'm just glad they have ultrasound machines! I can't believe those girls who want to wait until their baby is delivered to find out. I would feel so stressed out like I could never be prepared enough. lol. Plus I only have boy stuff so if it was a girl I would have to go out and do lots of shopping whereas I'd rather be at home getting to know her. And dont get me started about decorating the room! lol. Thats like the best part! Oh well, to each their own. I had a friend recently do it that way. The way I figure it, is that it's a surprise whether you find out at 20 weeks or 40 weeks. It all comes down to how prepared you want to be.
Anyways, I really wish I had started this blogging thing when I was preggo with Kaiden cause there is already so much I've forgotten about my pregnancy with him. All I remember is he was kicking at 13 weeks. He hiccuped ALOT. We found out he was a "he" at 17 weeks. That he was delivered 2 weeks early and that I had a lot more morning sickness with him. I was also alot more tired and craved french fries and soda day and night. During my 2nd trimester with him I was disgusted by chocolate, which is sooo weird for me. And in my 3rd trimester I loved LOVED chocolate shakes with Oreo pieces! yummmm! I also "knew" his personality. I cant describe it but I just knew he was going to be very active, advanced and alert and he has been since the day he was born! With this baby I feel more of a balanced personality, calm and energetic but not as much as Kaiden. lol I guess we'll see!
I'm excited to be able to look back and read my pregnancy blogs. One day we will have these blogs all printed into a family journal so sorry if not all of these things are interesting to everybody, but they were important enough for me to want to remember them! =)
Well, TTFN!
