Baylon is here!!

So even though our family blog is near inactive, thanks Instagram! ;) I thought I better write down Baylons birth story!
38 weeks! Last Preggo photo!

So we moved from Omaha to Kansas City 4 weeks ago and I decided before we left that I really wanted to deliver here in Omaha. I LOVE the new Methodist Women's hospital where I delivered Emery and also Dr Carlson who delivered her. It was also going to work out so that darrens folks could watch our wild kiddos while we were at the hospital. So my dr scheduled my induction date for Friday July 17th and I prayed he would stay cooking until then.
Darrens boss gave him Wednesday and Thursday off in addition to the Friday he had requested so we got to leave a day early and spend a little extra time as a family of 5.
At a Kansas City T Bones baseball game. July 3!

Well Thursday I made an appt with my dr and he stripped my membranes to get things going. Around 4 I started getting contractions about 7 mins apart. By 10 pm they were 6 minutes apart. at this point I got my bags gathered just in case then got back in bed. At 1 I woke up to them being 4 mins apart and even though they weren't very painful yet I was worried about how close they were. I also figured since I was scheduled to get induced at 7 they wouldn't turn me away if it was false labor. So I woke up Darren and we drove the 45 mins to the hospital. {fun fact #1: we saw a shooting star on our way!!} we arrived to the hospital around 2:30 am and my contractions were 3 mins apart at this time, but still not very painful. They hooked me up to the machines and for 3 hours they were 1-3 mins apart and then at 5 am they went back to 8-10 mins apart. So frustrating especially when you're so excited!! So they had me walk around the hospital for an hour, then they let me rest for an hour. At this point it was 7 am (my original induction time) and in walks my dr! He told me we were going to go along with the induction as planned and broke my water. {no going back now!!} things progressed quickly and I requested the epidural around 8 am. Let me say one of the many reasons I LOVE this hospital is because they have a nurse stay with you the whole time your in labor, never leaving your side!! {fun fact #2: she was the SAME nurse I had with Emery AND she remembered me!!!} I let her know  when I began to feel pressure and she called my dr to let him know it was go time! After just under 3 hours and only 1 push, our wee baby Baylon was born at 9:57 am!

Healthy and screaming! My dr exclaimed it was the easiest labor of his career. Dr Carlson is seriously an awesome man and I'm so grateful I was able to have him deliver our sweet little guy!

Baylon weighed 6 lb 15 oz and was 19 1/4 long.

He was born with lots of dark brown hair and a little birthmark on his tummy like his dad's!!

He has a look all his own however I think he looks the most like Darren out of all of our kiddos.

It was love at first sight {insta love}! After he was born the nurses put him on my chest and have Darren and I 2 hours alone of bonding/ skin to skin time  before whisking us away to the recovery suites.

The kids were just as infatuated with Baylon as we were when they came to see him later that night.

They all wanted turns to hold him and snuggle him and smother him in kisses!

Darren and I chose to stay the full 48 hours to rest and enjoy our new bundle.

He is such a sweet little boy and we are so excited to finally have our family complete!

Going home!!
